Coastal Outdoor Oasis: Sustainable Luxury

Set within the trees in a coastal landscape, this new-construction residence reimagines luxury living through modern architecture, immersive outdoor spaces and a design approach focused on achieving net-zero energy performance.

At the heart of the property is a 300-square-foot pool house surrounded by approximately 3,800 square feet of thoughtfully designed outdoor amenities. An expansive patio connects the swimming pool and spa with an outdoor kitchen, dining area, lounge, covered terrace with a fireplace, outdoor shower and discreet storage. Together, these spaces create a private resort-like retreat designed for gathering, relaxing and enjoying life outdoors throughout the seasons.

Sustainability and comfort are seamlessly integrated into the architecture. The all-electric home incorporates tankless water heating, ductless mini-split heat pumps, energy-recovery ventilation and radiant bathroom floors. Solar panels support the home’s energy needs, while electric-vehicle chargers provide for more environmentally conscious transportation.

Protecting the site’s natural character was equally important. Existing trees and their critical root zones were carefully documented before construction, allowing the design and building process to work around mature foliage and minimize disruption to the surrounding landscape.

During demolition, Spring Architecture + Design collaborated with the environmental nonprofit CET to divert reusable building materials from landfills. Donated materials support CET’s reuse programs, energy-saving assistance and community education—extending the project’s positive impact well beyond the property.

The result is a modern coastal home where sustainability and luxury are not competing ideas, but part of one cohesive vision: a healthy, energy-conscious residence with an exceptional outdoor environment designed for connection, comfort and lasting enjoyment.
